Shallow Water Lifeguard Training - 1AQ3 - Lifeguard Training

American Red Cross Certification

*Participant must be 15 years or older by last day of class.

Participants who successfully complete this course will receive certifications in
Shallow Water Lifeguarding w/ CPR/AED & First Aid.

***ATTENDANCE AT Pre-Requisite Skill testing AND at all 4 class dates IS REQUIRED.

The pre-requisites for the Lifeguard Training class are:
1) Swim continuously 75 yards freestyle (NO STOPPING), tread water 2 minutes, legs only, then continue swimming another 75 yards (NO STOPPING). Using freestyle or breaststroke, showing ability to maintain breath control.
3) Complete a timed swim and brick retrieval at a depth of 5 feet

If the skills are not successfully completed at the start of the course, participant will not be allowed to continue with the class.

***Refunds will NOT be given to participants who do not successfully complete the Pre-Requisite Skills Test.

Possible employment opportunity with Macomb Township Parks & Recreation Department upon successful completion of course.

Refunds will not be given to participants who do not successfully complete the Pre-Course Skills. A credit will be placed on your household account to be used for any future enrollments within our department.
